Haircut Time

On Thursday Eric and Jon got haircuts. Two little kids, one mom in the salon proved to be an interesting experience.

This is Jon after his first haircut. He did GREAT!!! He cried a little at times but he didn't move much and stayed calm through it all. He wasn't in much of a mood for a photo session after so it was hard to get a good one of his face. This shows how handsome he is.

As you can see the results from Eric's haircut were great. The process of getting it done...well let's just say it was Eric being Eric and I got a good workout from the experience, along with a few bruises and scratches. Many of his sensory issues involve his head, face and mouth. He does not understand that this is not supposed to hurt and that it has to be done. It is so uncomfortable for him he starts screaming and getting combative. It has been arranged for his ABA therapists to attend his next haircuts for 6 months. Hopefully they have some ideas. It is getting harder for me to lift him and hold him as he gets bigger. He dead weights himself when he is scared and don't want to do things. It's a wonder I haven't pulled out my back lifting him like this. He has progressed verbally so that may help with all of this. The main thing is that he looks great. All 3 of my boys are handsome :-)
