Last Friday Andy had his cast removed. He was not a big fan of the saw they used to take it off. It was loud and scary, even to me. So I can't blame him on that one. After all of that screaming and fighting they wanted to get an xray to make sure it was healed. He wanted nothing to do with that. He would not stay in position for anything. Finally the xray tech brought in the doctor. The dr. was pleased with how his arm looked and the fact that he was trying to move it. Yeah, it was still stiff but it looked like there were no problems. It was decided to not do the xrays this time. I was told to make another appointment for 2 weeks later. If he still seems in pain and is not using the arm they would get the xrays somehow at that point. If there are no problems I could cancel the appointment and be all done with this. After the first 2 days of stiffness he has using his arm normally since. It is fully mobile and he's not in pain. That is one dr. we are finally done with. I am so glad to see that he healed so well and he handled this whole thing so well. Enjoy the freedom of using both arms Andy, you deserve it!!!
It's a souvenir now!
Here he is about a day after it was removed. It is still a little stiff, hence it being bent a bit. He is very happy to have that cast off.
